Forces2Canaries Banger Rally 2023

As our rally start date rapidly approaches our team preps are complete. Gary and Nev will be off to the West Country this weekend to watch Plymouth vs Norwich City, travelling back Saturday night with enough time to sleep and load the rally car ready for Dover on Sunday afternoon. 4SCOTS Coleman Memorial Match

Last night at the Nest, the 4SCOTS Coleman memorial match between the Sgts and Cpls mess took place. General Lord Rochard Dannatt, Derek Tomkinson, Marty Power Ben Palmer, and I were there to represent F2C at the first match for the Coleman Cup. Chris “Pike” Saddleton was our F2C representative, and he managed to play 8 mins for the Cpls near the end. He had a great chance to score, but the footballing gods deserted him as usual. The Coleman family were in attendance, and they were blown away by all the effort that went into staging last night. The 4SCOTS guys are a great bunch and we hope to keep the link between them and ourselves going in the future. BZ all around.

Ben Kensell Leaves NCFC

Forces2Canaries members were disappointed to hear the news that our NCFC Chief Operating Officer Ben Kensell will be leaving the club shortly. Ben had always been very good to F2C including organising visits to the training ground for terminally ill fans and making phone calls to fans in hospital. While it has been stated the reason for Ben's departure had nothing to do with the BK8 sponsorship, hopefully, lessons will have been learnt by the club. However, fans need to pause and think before jumping in with both feet on social media in the future. The Commercial side of NCFC has changed dramatically over the past 7 years and that is a credit to Ben for his drive and leadership. Ben Kensell will be missed at Carrow Road for sure, good luck in the future.

F2C Player Of The Season 2020-21

Our F2C Player of the Season 2020-21 is Emi Buendia. Let’s hope we get a chance to see him play in a City shirt next season. We had a total of 44 votes cast with the final results;

RIP Glenn Roeder

Sad news yesterday that former Norwich City manager had passed away. Glenn was at the helm for 18 months and in his first season helped NCFC avoid relegation. Thoughts are with family and friends. RIP Glenn Roeder.

Ben Godfrey Leaves For Everton

Ben Godfrey transfer to Everton has been confirmed this morning. The record transfer fee of around £25 million-plus add ons is a great deal all round. Ben is a very talented player who has always given 100% while playing for NCFC. We wish Ben good luck with the next chapter of his football career.

RIP Gordon Bennett

RIP Gordon Bennett - he was well-liked by everyone who knew him and transformed the youth setup at NCFC.

Preston Away - FA Cup

Preston away in the FA Cup 3rd Saturday and a very rare win for Norwich City. Before Saturday's matches, our club had the worst winless streak in the FA Cup across all 4 divisions! Forces2Canaries members Marty Power, Gary Wenn, Stephen Wenn, Derek Tomkinson, and Nev Townsend pictured with our flag after the final whistle. Another trip to the same part of the country beckons with a 4th round draw away at Burnley. Doubt many more than the 700 that went to Preston will be tempted by this uninspiring draw. Forces2Canaries 20th Anniversary

Forces2Canaries 20th anniversary this month. Also this month we welcomed our 250th member to our group. At the Millwall (H) game, we will be taking part in the forces parade at halftime. Following the final whistle, 20 F2C members will be celebrating our 20-year anniversary with a meal in the fine city. Looking to the next 20 years, onwards and upwards.

Steven "Stal" Taylor

We said an emotional farewell to one of our own Steven "Stal" Taylor on Thursday. Steve's funeral was well attended and the Royal Navy did him proud. Many thanks to all the F2C members who came along and said goodbye to Steve.
