The biggest talking point of pre-season so far has to be the launch of the Ticket Membership Scheme. Fair to say the majority of our members are not in favour of the scheme.
The elements we like are, the £30 cap on casual home tickets (1,500), the removal of points for Home Season Ticket holders and the priority group for Away Season Ticket Holders (236) and fans who attended 10 games or more (550). It is the middle part of this scheme and the pricing we dislike. We feel we have a suitable alternative but I guess many other fans will say exactly the same.
We will always favour a scheme that prioritises fans that attend away games regularly, not those that very rarely attend away games. Loyalty should always be rewarded. A fan attending 10 away games last season will have spent close to the same £ as a home season ticket in match tickets and travel. Under this current scheme, the pricing and different membership levels need to be reviewed ASAP.
F2C has members around the country who do not have a season ticket and to have any chance of tickets will have to pay a minimum of £100, 1 x home membership and 1 x away membership. Families will be hardest hit including children who will have to pay the same as an adult. £50 for children is crazy and this was implemented apparently to stop fans from upgrading to an adult at a later date. Simples stop any upgrades.
The biggest winners in this scheme are fans who have never been to an away game who can pay £50 and have the same chance at getting an away ticket as someone who attended 9 away games last season.
The ticket income shortfall for NCFC in 2019-2020 based on the last time we were in the Premier League will be around £850,000. This is based on the £30 cap on away fans tickets (2700) and the clubs decision to cap casual home tickets (1500) at £30. This new Membership scheme could (top estimates) bring in £400,000, giving a perceived shortfall of £400,000.
The bottom line going forward for F2C is that NCFC needs to engage with fan groups/fans on important issues such as this in the future.
Forces2Canaries Whats App Group stands at 39. Let me know if you would like to join the group. We also have a separate Ticket/Membership Whats App page for members to arrange Membership numbers for this coming season.
Football tournament at the Nest. Date to be announced this week. We need a team of 6 minimum.
CSF Veterans Project the bid has been submitted for funding and the CSF await the green light for this project.
NCFSC Quiz at the Nest 20th June. We will be joining with Di Cunningham and the Proud Canaries guys for this one. Myself and Derek Tomkinson so far. Anyone else who can make this event let me know ASAP.
Armed Forces Day 29th June BBQ in Norwich, all are Welcome (Partners and Children). We have 15 so far and mainly from the Senior Service. Names to me by the 26th June. We have 15 so far.
Pre Season tour in Germany. We have 6 confirmed for our trip to Germany. Pedlar Palmer, Gary Riches and myself plus three friends of F2C. Thanks to Gary for arranging the transport. We still await the dates of the fixtures, more so as the Paderborn fixture was cancelled by NCFC last week. Most likely we will see 2 Senior games plus one U23 game. We will be based in Bielefeld for the duration and I’m sure we (not me one of the youngsters) will do a blog of some description while we are away.
Latest new F2C members…… Karl Holmes who is serving RAF at Marham, Victor Temple who is ex-Army and finally Mark Goldsmith who is also ex-Army. Welcome to F2C guys, we look forward to meeting you all next season.
Membership stands at 189. Would be great if we could break the 200 mark in 2019.
