Brentford on a Tuesday night is not that appealing to be fair. However if you throw in a couple of beers with the Chelmsford Canaries (Essex Canaries to some) at Waterloo station, and a terrace ticket at Brentford to watch City play. This then becomes a lot more attractive journey. Over 1600 canary fans crammed into the away end. 1000 in the terrace and 600 seated above. The first half saw Brentford go close on a couple of occasions and im sure Neil Adams was glad to go in at 0-0. The second half was a different beast, as City dominated and pressed forward at every opportunity. so it came as no surprise when City scored through Alex Tettey. After that is was all City with Cameron Jerome helping himself to 2 goals, the best being the City 3rd which was a screamer. 3pts great atmosphere terrace football all in all a great day. Fast forward to Saturday and 3 easy points against a Birmingham team down the bottom of the table last season and this. Unfortunately it doesn’t work out as we always want and Birmingham although not great their strength lay in the set up to counter attack under their manager Lee Clark. Another two goals from Cameron Jerome saved City from their first home defeat of the season. 28 attempts at goal says a lot for how Neil Adams wants his teams to play. 4 points from 2 games is promotion form, happy with that. To quote a chant from Tuesday night ” We have our Norwich back”……………..OTBC.
