Saturday saw Norwich City take on Dereham Town in front of 2000 odd fans. Dereham gave a good account of themselves apparently and only lost to an easy tap in by Kyle Lafferty.

Last night it was the turn of Braintree Town to face Norwich City. Boosted by many fans from the Chelmsford area this ensured it was another good turnout from the travelling City fans in a crowd of 833. The Amlin Staduim is tucked away behind a housing estate in Braintree which made parking close by fairly easy. Braintree are a top 10 side in the Conference elite division, which isn’t bad for a “Pub team from Essex” copyright “Dave Clarke”. Braintree fielded a couple of Trialists and it was clear from the start they would find it hard against Norwich. It wasn’t long before City opened the scoring in the 7th minute when Andrew Surman had the final touch in a well worked move. Lafferty picked himself up after being fouled 25 yards out to take the resulting free kick. He struck it well and the keeper did his best to get a hand to the ball but it wasnt enough to keep it out.  Half time 2-0. A further four goals from Redmond Johnson and two for RVW( good to see him score, even though they were easy tap ins)made the final score 1-6.
